Kuwait Launches Digital Multi-Trip Exit Permit System to Simplify Travel
Kuwait's New Digital Exit Permit Covers Multiple Trips

Kuwait Rolls Out Digital Multi-Trip Exit Permit System

Kuwait has officially launched a new digital exit permit system that allows a single permit to cover multiple trips abroad. This initiative aims to simplify travel procedures, reduce paperwork, and save significant time for both employees and employers across the country.

What Is the Multiple-Trip Exit Permit?

The Multiple-Trip Exit Permit represents a fresh service introduced by the Public Authority for Manpower, known as PAM. This launch forms a key part of Kuwait's ongoing digital transformation of government services. In the past, workers needed a separate permit for each individual trip abroad. That old system required repeated applications, approvals, and extensive paperwork for every journey.

With this upgraded system, a single permit can now cover multiple journeys within a specified period. This important change streamlines travel for employees and reduces administrative tasks for employers. The service operates fully digitally and links electronically with the Ministry of Interior. Once authorities approve a permit, the information transmits automatically to all relevant departments.

Employers and workers can print the approved permit at any time, offering greater flexibility and convenience. The system also enables employers to grant automatic pre-approval for exit permits. This pre-approval can apply to a single worker, a selected group, or all workers under a specific license. An exception option allows employers to exclude certain individuals while granting pre-approval to everyone else. Employers maintain complete control and can modify, suspend, or cancel pre-approvals at any moment.

How to Apply for the Permit

Applying for the Multiple-Trip Exit Permit is straightforward and fully digital. Follow these simple steps:

  1. Log in to the Ashal portal for companies and manpower services or use the Sahel Business/Individuals app.
  2. Select the type of permit: single-trip or multiple-trip.
  3. Enter the start and end dates for the permit.
  4. Submit the request. The system immediately provides a transaction number and shows the application status.

For employers granting pre-approval, the process involves going to pre-approval management, searching for registered workers, selecting the required individuals, and clicking add to finalize.

Why This System Matters

The new exit permit system forms part of PAM's broader efforts to modernize labor services and enhance digital government solutions. By allowing one permit to cover multiple trips, the system reduces repeated paperwork for both employers and workers. It also speeds up approvals, making service delivery faster and more efficient.

This upgrade gives employers greater flexibility and control over their workforce. It supports Kuwait's ongoing digital transformation initiatives. Overall, the system ensures smoother workflows, faster processing, and a more streamlined experience. It makes worker travel simpler and more predictable for everyone involved.
