Indian Army Chief Issues Stern Warning to Pakistan Over Drone Activity
Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi has delivered a firm message to Pakistan regarding recent drone sightings along the Line of Control. He stated clearly that India finds these incursions unacceptable and has demanded an immediate halt to such activities.
Recent Drone Sightings Prompt Official Response
General Dwivedi provided specific details about the drone incidents during his annual press conference. He reported that approximately six drones appeared on January 10, followed by two to three more on January 11 and 12. These were small drones flying at relatively low altitudes with their lights visible.
The Army chief described these drones as likely defensive in nature. He believes Pakistan was using them to probe Indian Army preparedness and check for potential weaknesses along the border. "I believe these were defensive drones, trying to see if any action was being taken against us," General Dwivedi explained.
Formal Communication Between Military Commands
India has taken official diplomatic steps to address the situation. General Dwivedi confirmed that the matter was discussed during a Director General of Military Operations-level conversation held on Monday. During this exchange, Indian officials clearly conveyed their position to their Pakistani counterparts.
"This matter was discussed, and it was clearly conveyed that such drone activity is unacceptable to us and must be stopped," the Army chief stated emphatically. This formal communication underscores the seriousness with which India views these border violations.
Indian Defenses Remain Robust and Vigilant
Despite the probing attempts, General Dwivedi expressed confidence in India's border security measures. He asserted that Pakistan's reconnaissance efforts would have revealed no exploitable gaps in Indian defenses. The Army chief emphasized that India maintains strong vigilance along the Line of Control.
"They must have received a negative response," General Dwivedi said regarding Pakistan's drone missions. "They would have seen that, as of today, there is no such place, no such gap from where terrorists can be pushed in."
The Army chief's statements reflect India's determination to maintain border security while using diplomatic channels to address violations.
