TTD Embarks on Ambitious Temple Construction Across India
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), one of the world's largest Hindu temple conglomerates, is set to undertake the construction of four major temples simultaneously across four Indian states. This initiative marks a significant step in the trust's mission to propagate Hindu Sanathana Dharma and expand the presence of Lord Venkateswara nationwide.
Strategic Expansion into Northeastern India
In a landmark move, the TTD will establish its first temple in northeastern India in Assam. The Assam government has allocated 10 acres of land at Amerigog village in the Kamrup metropolitan district for this purpose. TTD Chairman B R Naidu personally inspected the site, expressing excitement about bringing Lord Balaji closer to devotees in the region. "This project will enable us to take Lord Balaji to the doorsteps of people in the northeastern states," Naidu stated.
Replica Temples in Bihar and Southern States
Similarly, the Bihar government has allotted 10 acres of land on a 99-year lease at Mokhama town in Patna district for a replica Tirupati Balaji temple. A TTD team has already inspected the site in collaboration with the Bihar tourism department, and construction is expected to commence shortly.
In Tamil Nadu, the TTD will construct a new temple in Coimbatore, thanks to a donation of 19 acres of land by G Square Realty Ltd at Chettipalayam village. This addition will complement the trust's existing five temples and information centers in the state.
In Karnataka, the Belagavi-based Shri Balaji Devasthan trust has donated 7 acres of land at Kolikoppa village for a new TTD temple, with the foundation stone laying ceremony planned soon.
Vision for Nationwide Presence
The TTD, which administers the iconic Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple at Tirumala and 65 other temples, aims to establish at least one replica Tirupati Balaji temple in every Indian state and union territory. This ambitious goal is part of a broader effort to enhance religious and cultural outreach across the country.
Under the leadership of Chairman B R Naidu, the TTD trust board has approved these projects, signaling a robust phase of growth and devotion-driven expansion. The simultaneous construction in Assam, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka underscores the trust's commitment to making Hindu spirituality accessible to all.
