The historic town of Madhubani in Bihar came alive with color, music, and youthful energy as the two-day State Youth Festival-2025 commenced on Tuesday. The event, a collaborative effort by the state's art, culture and youth department and the Madhubani district administration, was formally inaugurated at the grounds of Watson School.
Grand Inauguration and Motivational Addresses
The festival was officially set into motion with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp. The dignitaries performing this ritual included District Magistrate Anand Sharma and Ruby, the director of the state’s art and culture department, along with other officials.
Addressing a gathering of enthusiastic participants, DM Anand Sharma delivered an inspiring speech. He directed his words to the 1,202 participants representing all 38 districts of Bihar. Sharma emphasized that the state is on the verge of a major transformation and urged the youth to proactively grab the emerging opportunities.
He specifically highlighted the state government's ambitious 'Saat Nischay 3' initiative, which aims to revolutionize the industrial landscape. The DM stressed that this vision is set to create massive prospects for employment and skill development for the younger generation.
"In the evolving scenario, mere academic degrees are insufficient," Sharma noted. He motivated the attendees to build self-confidence and discipline while focusing on acquiring practical skills. "Youths must hone their abilities and create opportunities rather than wait for them," he asserted, adding a powerful metaphor: "Suraj banana hai to, suraj ki tarah jalna hoga (If you want to become the sun, you must burn like the sun)."
Earlier, Ruby welcomed all guests and participants, underlining the festival's significant role in nurturing young talent and promoting cultural expression across Bihar.
A Spectacular Parade of Bihar's Cultural Tapestry
The morning of the inaugural day witnessed the city streets bursting into a vibrant celebration of heritage. A spectacular city tableau parade (nagar jhanki) was led by DM Anand Sharma and other senior officials.
Energetic contingents from all 38 districts marched with pride along a bustling route. The parade commenced from Watson School and moved through key city points including Thana Mor, Station Chowk, Ganga Sagar Chowk, and Bata Chowk, before culminating back at the starting point.
The parade was a visual feast, showcasing the incredible diversity of Bihar. Participants were adorned in dazzling traditional attire unique to their regions, presenting a living canvas of the state's rich heritage. The display ranged from:
- Intricate Madhubani painting motifs.
- Elegant and flowing Angika sarees.
