RSS Unveils Centenary Exhibition at Prayagraj's Magh Mela Grounds
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has inaugurated a special exhibition in sector 1 of the Magh Mela grounds in Prayagraj, offering a unique platform to address social and cultural issues while commemorating the organisation's 100-year journey. Founded on September 27, 1925, the RSS is celebrating 2025-26 as its centenary year, and this exhibition provides a vivid glimpse into its enduring resolve and historical evolution.

Spread across four halls at the Parade Ground, the exhibition meticulously depicts the various phases of the RSS through live demonstrations and curated panels. It presents a structured and visual account of the organisation's development, from its inception to the present day. Visitors are greeted at the entrance by a decorated statue of Bharat Mata, which sets a symbolic and patriotic tone for the entire exhibition.

Insights from Exhibition In-Charge Sachit Tandon
Sachit Tandon, the Nagar Karyavah of Kalyani Nagar South and in-charge of the exhibition, elaborated on its significance. He stated, "Nation-building begins with an individual, and since the founding of the Sangh in 1925, we have focused on individual development. Society is built from individuals, and the nation from society; thus, we nurture the first unit—the individual—with complete inclusivity."
Tandon further explained that the exhibition includes pictorial depictions of the life stories and achievements of all six Sarsanghchalaks (chiefs) of the Sangh, who dedicated their lives to this mission. He noted that the RSS has witnessed numerous ups and downs throughout its century-long journey, which are also showcased in the displays.
Historical Context and Social Contributions
The exhibition highlights key historical events, such as the RSS's role during natural disasters and its support during the 1965 and 1971 wars, emphasizing its non-political nature. It also addresses the bans imposed by the Congress government in 1948, 1975, and 1992, which were later lifted, providing a balanced perspective on the organisation's challenges and resilience.
Tandon added, "Here, the traditions of the RSS, along with its objectives, are presented in the form of five transformations, illustrating how the organisation has adapted and evolved over time." This section of the exhibition underscores the RSS's commitment to social service and cultural preservation, aligning with its broader goals of fostering unity and national pride.
