President Droupadi Murmu Set to Visit Ayodhya Ram Temple in March for Prayers
In a significant development for the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya, Nripendra Misra, chairman of the Temple Construction Committee, announced on Friday that President Droupadi Murmu is likely to visit the sacred site in March to offer prayers. This visit follows a recent meeting where members of the Temple Trust extended an invitation to the President, which she graciously accepted. While the exact date of her visit remains to be finalized, this event marks a momentous occasion for the temple and its devotees.
Heritage Manuscripts and Artifacts Enrich Temple Collection
During a two-day review meeting that commenced on Friday, Misra highlighted the acquisition of several valuable heritage texts by the Temple Trust. Among these treasures is a nearly 400-year-old commentary on the Valmiki Ramayana, written in Sanskrit script. Originally belonging to the Central Sanskrit University in Delhi and previously housed at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum, this manuscript has now been permanently gifted to the Trust. This transfer was facilitated by the Trust's request, aligning with plans to display the Ramayan on the temple complex's second floor.
Champat Rai, the general secretary of the Temple Trust, has personally brought this ancient manuscript to Ayodhya. Additionally, the temple will install the Ram Yantra, a sacred geometric symbol presented by the Shankaracharya of Kanchi, further enhancing the spiritual ambiance of the site.
Committee to Verify Authenticity of Donated Texts
To ensure the integrity of such donations, Misra revealed that a special committee of subject experts will be constituted. This committee will be tasked with determining the age and authenticity of manuscripts and heritage books. Given the growing interest from individuals wishing to donate similar texts, the Trust will only accept verified and authenticated materials. Advertisements will be issued to invite submissions, ensuring a transparent and rigorous selection process.
Construction Progress on Track for Key Milestones
Reviewing the ongoing construction efforts, Misra provided updates on several key projects:
- The memorial associated with the temporary temple, where Lord Ram was worshipped from 2020 and earlier, is progressing satisfactorily and is expected to be completed by the end of February.
- The memorial dedicated to those who sacrificed their lives during the Ram Temple movement is also under construction and is likely to be finished by the end of March.
- Construction agencies, including L&T and Tata Group, are anticipated to complete their remaining work by the end of April.
Furthermore, the committee will review the progress of facade lighting and signage across the temple complex, ensuring that all aspects of the project meet the highest standards.
This comprehensive review underscores the meticulous planning and dedication involved in the Ram Temple's development, blending spiritual heritage with modern construction excellence.
