Patna Set for Spectacular Ram Navami Festivities on March 27

The city of Patna is poised for an immersive celebration of devotion and tradition as Ram Navami, commemorating the birth of Lord Rama, will be observed with immense grandeur on March 27. The Shri Shri Ram Navami Shobha Yatra Abhinandan Committee has announced elaborate plans to transform the state capital into a vibrant hub of faith, unity, and cultural heritage through colorful tableaux, grand processions, and cultural performances.

Massive Scale of Celebrations with Tableaux and Processions

This year's Shobha Yatra will feature an impressive 51 attractive tableaux originating from various localities across Patna, each depicting the life and ideals of Lord Rama. In addition, 52 grand processions will be taken out from different parts of the city, collectively infusing Patna with the spiritual essence of Ram Navami. The processions will follow traditional routes before converging at the renowned Mahavir Mandir near Patna Junction, creating a focal point for devotees.

Committee's Initiatives and Public Appeal

The committee has made a heartfelt appeal to residents to hoist the Ram Dhwaja (flag) at their homes as a symbol of faith and unity. To facilitate this, approximately two lakh Mahaviri Dhwaj flags will be distributed to households, alongside one lakh Vikram Samvat calendars for the occasion. Senior BJP leader and national president, Nitin Nabin, who serves as the convenor of the Shri Shri Ram Navami Shobha Yatra Abhinandan Samiti, emphasized the festival's significance in Sanatan Dharma during a press conference.

Nabin stated, "Ram Navami is an important festival of Sanatan Dharma, celebrating the life of Lord Rama. The committee has made elaborate arrangements for the event. Like every year, a grand celebration will be organised in Patna this year as well." He was joined by the samiti's president Jagjivan Singh 'Bablu' and other members in detailing the preparations.

Cultural Attractions and Decorations

Devotees, particularly women, swaying to Ramdhun amid saffron flags accompanying each tableau, are anticipated to be a major highlight. The various committees will be welcomed and felicitated at Dak Bungalow Chauraha, the main attraction point of the procession. Artists from across India will participate, including:

  • A renowned band from Mumbai
  • A dance troupe from Jharkhand
  • A Ganga Aarti team from Kashi

The main stage will be adorned with idols of Lord Rama and Hanuman, enhancing the spiritual ambiance.

City-Wide Decorations and Dignitary Attendance

Nabin further revealed that the entire city will be decorated with colorful LED lights and flowers, creating a festive atmosphere. Ram Dhwaj flags will be installed at all major chowks and roundabouts, and other puja committees have been requested to distribute flags in slum areas. The event is expected to attract dignitaries such as Governor Syed Ata Hasnain, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Sinha, and BJP state president Sanjay Saraogi.

To ensure comfort for participants, the committee will arrange drinking water and sherbet along the procession routes, and attractive gateways will be set up on major roads. This comprehensive planning aims to make the Ram Navami celebrations in Patna a memorable and inclusive experience for all devotees and residents.
