Kolhapur Observes Eid-ul-Fitr with Enthusiasm and Peace
The city of Kolhapur celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr on Saturday with high enthusiasm, set against a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere. The Muslim community marked the occasion by offering special namaz at the Muslim Boarding in Dasara Chowk and various other mosques across the city.
Community Leaders and Officials Exchange Greetings
Superintendent of Police Yogesh Kumar Gupta, Additional Superintendent of Police Dheeraj Kumar Bacchu, City Deputy Superintendent of Police Priya Patil, Shiv Sena UBT District Convenor Vijay Dewane, and Maratha Mahasangh National Deputy President Vasant Mulik were present at the Muslim Boarding to exchange greetings with the Muslim community. Their participation underscored the spirit of unity and mutual respect during the festivities.
Significance of Eid-ul-Fitr Emphasized
Gani Ajrekar, Chairman of Muslim Boarding, highlighted the importance of Eid-ul-Fitr, stating, "Eid-ul-Fitr is a celebration of the completion of the month-long holy fast. It is a time for forgiveness and reconciliation, for strengthening family and community ties, and for performing acts of charity and kindness towards those in need." Following the namaz, community members embraced each other, sharing warm wishes for Eid-ul-Fitr, reinforcing bonds of friendship and solidarity.
Personal Celebrations and Festive Feasts
Imran Chand, a resident from the Bagal Chowk area, shared details of his family's celebrations. "After offering the holy Namaz, we arranged a get-together of all my siblings at my place for a grand Ramzan feast. Shirkurma or kheer, along with kebabs, biryani, and other summer coolers, were on the platter. We also purchased a new electric car on Eid!" This reflects the joyous and generous nature of the festival, blending traditional customs with modern elements.
The celebrations in Kolhapur showcased a vibrant mix of religious observance, community engagement, and festive joy, all conducted in a peaceful environment that promoted harmony and togetherness.
