This initiative, unveiled on February 16, 2026, includes a grand award of ₹1.01 crore aimed at recognizing global contributions to culture and ideals aligned with Vikramaditya's legacy.
Comprehensive Award Structure to Promote Cultural Excellence
The award framework is designed to foster cultural prestige at multiple levels. Alongside the premier international award, a national award of ₹21 lakh will be instituted to honor outstanding achievements within India. Additionally, three state-level awards, each valued at ₹5 lakh, will be established to encourage grassroots cultural initiatives. All these awards are founded on the timeless ideals of Samrat Vikramaditya, emphasizing justice, wisdom, and cultural patronage.
Vikramotsav Gains International Recognition as a Major Festival
Simultaneously, Vikramotsav has been officially recognized as an international festival, marking a significant milestone in its global appeal. This recognition is part of a broader strategy to integrate cultural celebrations across the state. All Shivratri fairs will now be linked to Vikramotsav, creating a unified cultural calendar that highlights India's rich traditions.
