Congress and BJP Leaders Unite for Historic Hanuman Chalisa Mahayagna in Mysuru

In a remarkable display of political unity, functionaries from the Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have come together to support the Sri Hanuman Chalisa Parayana Mahayagna, scheduled for Saturday at the Maharaja's College Grounds in Mysuru. This mega spiritual congregation, organized for universal welfare, is anticipated to draw between 75,000 and one lakh devotees, making it a significant event in the region's cultural and religious calendar.

Joint Efforts and Preparations for the Event

All preparations have been meticulously completed for the two-day programme, which will be led by Ganapathi Sachchidananda Swami of the Avadootha Datta Peeta. Addressing a joint press conference after inspecting the site, BJP MLA TS Srivatsa and Congress MLA K Harishgowda described the event as historic. Srivatsa emphasized the religious leader's global contributions, particularly in promoting music therapy and spreading the Hanuman Chalisa for spiritual and physical well-being. Harishgowda added that the programme also features a Shiva-Parvati kalyana, enriching its spiritual offerings.

The collaboration began earlier this week, with the Avadootha Datta Peeta announcing the event on Tuesday. On Thursday, a section of Congress functionaries visited the site, followed by BJP functionaries joining them on Friday for a joint press meet. Key figures present included City BJP chief and former MLA L Nagendra, Congress functionary and former Muda chairman HV Rajeeva, and Narayana, former chairman of the Karnataka State Commission for Safaikarmachris.

Logistical Arrangements and Facilities

To accommodate the massive turnout, organizers have erected a specially designed stage for dignitaries, seers, and saints, along with a massive pandal to facilitate mass chanting. Seating arrangements have been meticulously planned for 40,000 to 50,000 participants, ensuring comfort and accessibility. Comprehensive facilities have been put in place, including:

  • Drinking water supply to keep devotees hydrated.
  • Arrangements for prasada distribution to offer spiritual nourishment.
  • Hanumad Sriraksha for spiritual protection and blessings.
  • Temporary toilets to maintain hygiene.
  • Emergency medical facilities for safety and health concerns.

Parking arrangements have been made near the venue and on adjoining roads to manage the influx of vehicles. With thousands of devotees expected from across India and abroad, special bus services have been arranged within the city to ensure smooth transportation.

Significance and Expected Impact

This event highlights the power of spirituality in bridging political divides, as leaders from opposing parties set aside differences for a common cause. The Hanuman Chalisa Mahayagna not only promotes religious harmony but also emphasizes the importance of music therapy and holistic well-being, as championed by Ganapathi Sachchidananda Swami. The anticipated participation of up to one lakh devotees underscores its appeal and the community's enthusiasm for such spiritual gatherings.

As Mysuru prepares for this historic occasion, the joint efforts of Congress and BJP leaders serve as a testament to the unifying force of faith and tradition in Indian society.
