The 32nd annual Mahashivratri festival at the renowned Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore is scheduled for February 15th, 2024, as officially announced by the South Kailaya Bhakti Peravai. This spiritually significant event will witness Defence Minister Rajnath Singh attending as the distinguished special guest, marking a continuation of high-profile participation at the centre.
Grand Celebrations with Central Ministers and Celebrities
The festival is expected to draw lakhs of devotees alongside several central ministers, prominent film stars, and other celebrities, creating a vibrant confluence of spirituality and public life. The celebrations will commence at 6 pm on February 15th in front of the iconic Adiyogi statue and continue through the night until 6 am the following morning, adhering to the traditional all-night vigil.
Spiritual Highlights and First-Time Ritual Dedication
Under the guidance of Sadhguru, the festival will feature a series of powerful spiritual activities designed to enhance participants' experience. These include intense meditations, collective mantra chanting, the Yogeshwara Linga Maha Abhishekam, and captivating musical performances by top artists.
In a historic first for this Mahashivratri, Sadhguru Adiyogi will personally dedicate the sacred spiritual process of 'Maha Abhishekam' to the previously installed Yogeshwara Linga. This special ceremony will incorporate specific mantra chanting and dedications aimed at amplifying the blessings emanating from the Yogeshwara Linga.
Free Public Participation and Registration Details
Emphasizing inclusivity, the general public is invited to participate in this Maha Abhishekam free of charge. Interested individuals can secure their participation by registering the necessary information through a dedicated online platform, making the sacred ritual accessible to all.
Powerful Midnight Meditations Led by Sadhguru
The festival's pinnacle will be the powerful meditations led by Sadhguru during the spiritually potent midnight Sandhya and Brahmamukhurtha hours. In Indian spiritual tradition, Mahashivratri, which falls in the month of Masi, is celebrated as a day when planetary alignments naturally support and elevate the human life force.
For thousands of years, this cultural practice of an all-night vigil has enabled people to fully tap into this unique spiritual potential, a tradition that the Isha Yoga Centre continues to honor and amplify.

The 2023 Mahashivratri festival at the Isha Yoga Centre saw President Droupadi Murmu joining as the Guest of Honour. Addressing the celebrations, President Murmu expressed, "I feel especially blessed today to be here on the holy occasion of Mahashivaratri in the presence of Adiyogi."
