Uttarakhand Chief Minister Embraces Global Yoga Gathering in Rishikesh
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami made a significant appearance at the ongoing International Yoga Festival (IYF) held at Parmarth Niketan in Rishikesh on Friday. The event, set against the serene backdrop of the Ganga river, saw Dhami joining spiritual leaders and participants from around the world for traditional ceremonies, including a yagna and the evening Ganga aarti.

Dhami actively participated in the rituals alongside prominent figures such as Swami Chidanand Saraswati and Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati from the ashram, Simon Sevan Schafer from the Swiss embassy, and renowned singer Kailash Kher. The Ganga aarti commenced with chants led by young scholars from Parmarth Niketan, enveloping the riverbank in devotional music and prayer. Swami Chidanand Saraswati initiated the proceedings by chanting the mantra "Mangalam Bhagwan Vishnuh," setting a spiritual tone for the evening.

These initiatives include the implementation of a dedicated yoga policy and plans to establish five new yoga dhams, along with Ayush and yoga wellness centers. Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati, the festival director of IYF, provided deeper insights into the event's purpose.
