Panchkula: Health experts from across the country deliberated on the effective implementation of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, at PRAYAS 2026, a national CME-cum-workshop held at the PWD Rest House in Sector 1.
Workshop Theme and Focus
Organised by the department of hospital administration, Civil Hospital, Sector 6, the workshop was themed "An Effort to Create a Safe Workplace for Healthcare Workers under POSH." The discussions centred on the implementation, challenges, institutional responsibilities and practical solutions within healthcare organisations.
Participation and Sessions
The event saw participation from doctors, nurses, DNB residents, hospital administrators and faculty from institutions across Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. Speakers underlined the need for safe, inclusive and harassment-free workplaces in healthcare settings, given the high-pressure environment professionals operate in.
Sessions covered a wide range of topics including gender sensitivity, professional boundaries, rights and responsibilities of employees, functioning of Internal Committees, complaint redressal mechanisms, POSH audits and tech-enabled compliance tools such as the SHe-Box platform.
Interactive Learning and Expert Insights
Interactive discussions and case studies gave participants practical insights into handling workplace issues effectively. Experts highlighted the importance of leadership commitment and proactive institutional policies in ensuring employee well-being and organisational integrity. The workshop emphasised that creating a safe workplace is not just a legal requirement but a moral imperative for healthcare institutions.
