Jharkhand Boosts HIV Testing Capabilities with Specialized Training

The Jharkhand State AIDS Control Society (JSACS) has taken a significant step toward strengthening the state's healthcare infrastructure by conducting a comprehensive two-day training workshop for laboratory technicians. The specialized session took place on Monday and Tuesday at the IPH auditorium located in Namkum, Ranchi.

Statewide Participation in Critical Healthcare Training

Fifty-six lab technicians representing various integrated counselling and testing centres from across Jharkhand participated in this crucial capacity-building initiative. The workshop brought together healthcare professionals from different districts to enhance their skills in handling advanced diagnostic procedures.

According to Satya Prakash Prasad, JSACS deputy director, the training focused on practical, hands-on learning experiences. "The technicians were given hands-on training on handling advanced testing techniques used in HIV testing," Prasad stated, emphasizing the practical nature of the workshop.

Comprehensive Curriculum Addressing Critical Healthcare Needs

The training program covered multiple aspects of HIV diagnosis and management, with particular attention to sensitive cases. Participants received specialized instruction on handling situations where infants test positive for HIV, among various other critical issues facing healthcare providers.

The workshop curriculum was designed to address the evolving challenges in HIV diagnosis and management. Technicians learned about the latest testing methodologies and best practices in patient sample handling, ensuring more accurate and reliable test results across the state's healthcare facilities.

This initiative by JSACS represents a continued commitment to improving healthcare outcomes in Jharkhand. By equipping lab technicians with advanced skills and knowledge, the state aims to enhance early detection capabilities and improve the overall quality of HIV care and prevention services available to residents.
