14 Ranchi Panchayats Declared TB-Free in Health Push

Ranchi district achieved a significant public health milestone on Monday. Fourteen panchayats received official declarations as 'TB-free' during a special program. The event focused on the Jan Arogya Samiti (JAS) and TB-free panchayat initiatives.

Recognized Panchayats

The honored panchayats include Tundahulli, Special Ormanjhi, Ichadag, Pancha, Banta Hajam, Kuchu, Angara, Sursu, Nawagarh, Tunju, Gabhreya, Kanchi, Reladih, and Sumandih. This recognition marks a major step in local health governance.

Strengthening Health Services

The program emphasized quality service delivery at Ayushman Arogya Mandirs. Organizers promoted robust grassroots-level health governance. JAS members received detailed sensitization about their roles and responsibilities.

Officials stressed the critical importance of community participation. Active involvement strengthens public health services across villages.

Key Voices on Community Healthcare

State programme coordinator Akay Minz highlighted the JAS framework. He stated that Jan Arogya Samitis form the backbone of community-based healthcare delivery. Sahiyas act as a vital connection between villages and the formal health system.

These health workers ensure people access timely medical services and accurate health information.

State nodal officer for TB, Dr. Kamlesh Kumar, explained the broader vision. The TB-free panchayat objective extends beyond mere treatment provision. It aims to eliminate fear, misconceptions, and social stigma linked with tuberculosis.

Dr. Kumar identified several essential components for TB elimination. Community participation remains crucial. Improved living conditions, proper nutrition, and early diagnosis also play vital roles.

Comprehensive Health Discussions

The program facilitated wide-ranging discussions on multiple health topics. Participants talked about sanitation, nutrition, and maternal and child health. Disease prevention strategies received considerable attention.

Effective implementation of government health schemes formed another key discussion point.

Nutritional Support for Patients

Under the national 'TB-free India campaign', patients receive direct nutritional support. The government provides Rs 1,000 per month through direct benefit transfer. This financial aid helps patients maintain better health during treatment.

Ranchi's achievement demonstrates how coordinated efforts can yield tangible health outcomes. Community engagement and government initiatives together create healthier panchayats.
