Relatives Rush to Evacuate Newborns Amid Smoke Spread
As smoke began to spread in the vicinity of the NICU, concerned relatives rushed into the ward to evacuate their newborns. The tense situation persisted for some time as families worked to ensure the safety of the infants. Police from the Garha police station promptly arrived at the scene to manage the crowd and restore order.
Hospital Authorities Clarify Death Report and Confirm Safety
Reports emerged of a newborn's death during the incident, leading to heightened anger among relatives. However, hospital authorities clarified that the death had occurred earlier and was unrelated to the smoke incident. Some relatives alleged that no doctors or ward staff were present at the time of the emergency, raising concerns about hospital protocols.

Superintendent Dr. Arvind Sharma addressed the media, confirming that the smoke was caused by a short circuit outside the NICU. He emphasized that all newborns in the unit are safe and that the situation has been brought under control.
