Nita Ambani Inaugurates Jeevan Medical Wing, A Tribute to Her Father
Nita Ambani Opens Jeevan Wing at Sir HN Reliance Hospital

This week marked a significant expansion for one of Mumbai's premier healthcare institutions. Nita Ambani, the Founder and Chairperson of the Reliance Foundation, inaugurated a new medical wing named 'Jeevan' at the Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital. The event was a deeply personal affair, attended by her immediate family including her mother Mamta Dalal, sister Purnima Dalal, and her husband Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries.

A Daughter's Tribute and a Decade of Service

The inauguration of the Jeevan centre held dual significance. Firstly, it stands as a heartfelt tribute from Nita Ambani to her late father, Ravindrabhai Dalal. During the emotional launch ceremony, she shared the core values he instilled in her. "Jeevan is my dedication as a daughter to my father. Papa taught me that seva is the highest form of worship," she stated, framing the new facility as an act of service.

Secondly, the opening coincided with the hospital's milestone 10th anniversary. Reflecting on the journey that began a decade ago, Nita Ambani reiterated the founding vision: "Ten years ago, we began with a vision to make world-class healthcare affordable and accessible to every Indian." The numbers speak to this mission's success – over the past ten years, the hospital has provided treatment to 3.3 million patients, a figure that includes 1.6 million children.

Advanced Care Under One Roof

The Jeevan wing is designed to build upon this legacy by consolidating critical specialist services. It brings together advanced oncology treatments like chemotherapy and immunotherapy with a dedicated dialysis unit. A key feature ensuring patient safety is a round-the-clock critical care unit for constant monitoring.

However, the heart of the new facility is arguably its specialised paediatric chemotherapy ward. Nita Ambani described this area as being particularly close to her heart. Understanding the fear and anxiety hospital visits can cause children, the ward has been thoughtfully designed with child-friendly interiors. Vibrant wall art featuring animals and nature aims to create a warm and welcoming environment for young patients battling serious illnesses.

Comfort and Dignity for Families

Addressing the gathering, Nita Ambani spoke poignantly about the emotional challenges faced by families. "Every mother, every father who walks through these doors carries a weight no parent should ever have to bear. And every child who goes through this treatment is a brave little warrior," she said. This philosophy is embedded in the centre's design, which prioritises not just medical treatment but also the dignity and comfort of every family.

The launch of the Jeevan medical wing adds a crucial layer to Mumbai's critical care infrastructure. It reinforces the Reliance Foundation Hospital's ongoing commitment to its dual promise: delivering high-quality, advanced medical treatment while ensuring it remains accessible and affordable to a wide cross-section of society.
