MCC Extends NEET PG 2025 Seat Resignation Window: New Dates & Rules
NEET PG 2025: MCC Extends Seat Resignation Facility

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced a crucial extension for candidates seeking to resign from their allotted postgraduate medical seats. Responding to numerous requests, the MCC has reopened the resignation facility for those who secured seats in NEET PG 2025 Round 1 and Round 2 counselling. This move primarily aids candidates who wish to opt out after the declaration of various state counselling results.

Revised NEET PG 2025 Resignation Schedule

Candidates must act within a specific, narrow timeframe to formally resign their seats. The MCC has set the revised window from December 22, 2025, at 2:00 PM to December 26, 2025, till 6:00 PM. All resignation activities must be completed through the official portal, mcc.nic.in, within these dates. The committee has advised candidates who have not yet resigned from their earlier round allotments to utilize this final opportunity.

Key Guidelines for the Resignation Process

The MCC has issued specific instructions to ensure a smooth resignation process. Candidates who were allotted a seat in Round 2 and have already joined the college can still vacate their seat during this extended period. However, this action will lead to the forfeiture of their security deposit.

Similarly, candidates who received an upgrade in Round 2, accepted it, and joined the new institute are also permitted to resign. This option is also subject to the loss of the security deposit. The MCC emphasizes that a physical presence at the allotted college is mandatory to complete the resignation formalities.

Critical Step: Generating the Resignation Letter

A vital procedural step has been highlighted by the committee. Candidates must ensure that their official Resignation Letter is generated through the MCC portal by the allotted college itself. Any resignation where the letter is not produced via this official channel will be considered 'Null & Void'. This underscores the importance of following the protocol precisely to avoid future complications.

The NEET PG 2025 Round 2 seat allotment results were declared on December 16, 2025. Candidates allotted seats in this round who now wish to exit the counselling process must strictly adhere to these updated resignation guidelines. For the latest updates and detailed notices, candidates are advised to regularly check the official MCC website at mcc.nic.in.
