A 20-year-old college student from Madurai, who sustained severe head injuries in a devastating road accident near Karaikudi in Sivaganga district, was declared brain-dead on February 14 at Government Rajaji Hospital (GRH). The young woman's tragic condition ultimately led to a noble act of organ donation that has given new hope to three critically ill patients.
From Accident to Brain-Death Declaration
The student was initially treated at a private medical facility following the serious road mishap. As her condition deteriorated, she was referred to Government Rajaji Hospital, where she arrived in an unconscious state.
