The device delivers rapid pulses of ultraviolet laser energy that effectively break down and vaporize the plaque and calcium into minuscule particles. Prof Pravesh Vishwakarma, a faculty member at the cardiology department, highlighted a key benefit: "In selected patients with less severe narrowing, clearing the blockage may even eliminate the need for a stent."
