Tragic Discovery in Hyderabad
On February 23, 2026, the lifeless body of 21-year-old BSc student and lifestyle YouTuber Bonu Komali was discovered at her rented residence in Hyderabad, Telangana. The young woman, who had been living alone in the city for nearly eleven months, was found hanging from a ceiling fan in what authorities have determined to be a suicide.
Who Was Bonu Komali?
Bonu Komali was a promising young woman originally from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. She had relocated to Hyderabad to pursue her higher education while simultaneously building her YouTube channel, where she created lifestyle content. Her dual life as a student and content creator represented the aspirations of many young Indians navigating education and digital entrepreneurship.
The Final Message
According to police reports, Bonu sent a heartbreaking final message to her mother, B. Satya Varalakshmi, at approximately 1:34 a.m. on Monday. The text read: "I love you mummy so much. Jagratha. Thammudini baaga chusuko" which translates to "I love you mummy so much. Be careful. Take good care of my younger brother."
Her mother, who works as a babysitter in Kuwait, immediately attempted to call her daughter but found Bonu's phone switched off. Growing increasingly concerned, she contacted a friend in Hyderabad who subsequently visited Bonu's apartment and made the tragic discovery.
Police Investigation Findings
The Raidugram police conducted a preliminary investigation that revealed Bonu's suicide resulted from severe emotional distress caused by a prolonged relationship dispute. The dispute involved a 27-year-old YouTuber and software engineer with whom Bonu had ended a three-year relationship. Police confirmed that this relationship breakdown was the primary contributing factor to her tragic decision.
Further investigation uncovered that Bonu had previously attempted suicide approximately six months earlier for the same reason, indicating a pattern of emotional turmoil related to the relationship.
