Gorakhpur: Man Dies After Surgery, Family Alleges Medical Negligence at Private Hospital
A tragic incident unfolded at a private hospital in the Gorakhnath area of Gorakhpur on Wednesday, where the death of a 25-year-old man following a surgical procedure sparked significant chaos and allegations of medical negligence from his distraught family members.

The deceased has been identified as Abhishek Maddheshia, a resident of Bhagwanpur under Pipiganj. According to family statements, Abhishek was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday for treatment of gallbladder stones. He underwent surgery around 8:30 pm that evening.
His father, Suresh Maddheshia, alleged that his son's condition deteriorated rapidly soon after the operation due to excessive bleeding, which he attributed to a "botched operation" by the medical team. Abhishek succumbed to his condition around 5:30 am on Wednesday.
Family's Allegations Against Hospital Staff
The family has leveled several serious accusations against the hospital and its personnel:
- They claim doctors failed to inform them about Abhishek's worsening health status during the critical post-operative period.
- They allege that hospital staff fled the premises following his death, abandoning their duties.

Following the death, agitated relatives created a ruckus inside the hospital premises, leading to a tense situation. Police personnel from the Gorakhnath police station promptly arrived at the scene, managed to bring the situation under control, and collected a written complaint from the family.
Station House Officer Vijay Pratap Singh confirmed that the matter is now under official investigation. "The matter is being investigated and appropriate action will follow," SHO Singh stated, indicating that legal and administrative steps will be taken based on the findings.
