A fire broke out at the well-known Bhatia Hospital located in the Grant Road area of Mumbai on Monday afternoon, causing alarm but resulting in no injuries. The incident, which was reported at approximately 1:35 PM, prompted an immediate and large-scale response from the city's emergency services.
Swift Emergency Response Contains Blaze
The alert regarding the fire led to the swift deployment of the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) to the hospital's location. Upon arrival, firefighters identified the source of the fire. The blaze was confined to the electrical wiring and installations within the hospital's CT-MRI unit, which is situated on the ground floor of the facility. Although the fire generated heavy smoke in the vicinity, the firefighting teams worked efficiently to bring the situation under control and extinguish the flames.
Multi-Agency Precautionary Measures Activated
As a standard precautionary protocol, a comprehensive emergency response was mobilised. Alongside the Mumbai Fire Brigade, teams from the local police, Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST), ward staff, and 108 ambulance services were present at the scene.
