This industrial action was organized in protest against the arrest of Jaipur-based physician Dr Son Dev Bansal, who faces allegations connected to the Rajasthan Government Health Scheme (RGHS) fraud investigation.
Widespread Disruption of Medical Services Across the State

Outpatient departments (OPDs) in private hospitals remained completely closed, numerous scheduled surgeries were postponed indefinitely, and emergency medical services experienced substantial interruptions across multiple regions. The protest was specifically called following the detention of Dr Bansal, who serves as director of a private hospital in Jaipur.

Four Key Demands Presented to State Government
In a formal communication addressed to the Chief Minister, the IMA outlined four primary demands:

- Clear guidelines to prevent arbitrary actions against medical practitioners
- Establishment of a standard operating procedure (SOP) before initiating criminal proceedings in RGHS-related cases

The medical body also highlighted persistent systemic problems within the Rajasthan Government Health Scheme, including:
- Significant delays in payment processing
- Arbitrary imposition of penalties
- Frequent claim rejections without transparent justification
- Lack of clarity in hospital empanelment procedures
- Absence of standardized operating protocols
The IMA has demanded the formation of a joint high-level committee comprising medical professionals and government officials, immediate clearance of all pending dues, settlement of claims within a strict 30-day timeframe, and rigorous enforcement of established SOPs.
Suspension of Services to Continue Until Resolution
The association has confirmed that the suspension of RGHS services will persist until these issues receive satisfactory resolution. Medical representatives have issued a stern warning that failure to address their concerns could escalate into an indefinite strike, potentially creating even more severe healthcare consequences for Rajasthan's population.
