Karnataka Government Inaugurates New Critical Care Blocks Across Three Districts
The state government of Karnataka has officially opened new Critical Care Blocks (CCBs) in three key districts: Davangere, Bagalkot, and Dakshina Kannada. In Dakshina Kannada, the unit has been set up at the Wenlock hospital, a prominent medical institution in the area. Each Critical Care Block will be equipped with a dedicated team of 24 healthcare professionals to ensure round-the-clock operation and high-quality patient care. The staffing structure includes:
- One physician to oversee medical treatments and diagnoses.
- One anesthesiologist to manage anesthesia and pain control during procedures.
- One surgeon to perform necessary surgical interventions.
- Twelve staff nurses to provide continuous nursing care and monitor patients.
- Nine Group D workers to handle support services and maintenance.

The Karnataka government has allocated a substantial budget of Rs 190 crore for the appointment and operationalization of these Critical Care Blocks.
