The medical and health department of Andhra Pradesh has taken a significant step in strengthening healthcare infrastructure across the state by releasing the final instalment of the National Health Mission budget for the fiscal year 2025-26. A substantial amount of ₹128.43 crore has been disbursed to all twenty-six districts in Andhra Pradesh, with clear directives for timely utilisation.

District-Wise Allocation Details

Commissioner of medical and health and family welfare, G Veerapandian, provided detailed insights into how the funds have been distributed among the districts. Guntur district emerged as the top recipient with the highest allocation of ₹26.10 crore, reflecting its substantial healthcare requirements and population density.

Other Major Recipients

Following Guntur, Nellore district received ₹8.60 crore while Krishna district was allocated ₹6.21 crore. The remaining twenty-three districts received amounts ranging between ₹2 crore and ₹5.20 crore each, ensuring equitable distribution based on specific healthcare needs and demographic factors across different regions of Andhra Pradesh.

Strict Guidelines for Fund Utilisation

In a virtual meeting conducted on Thursday with all District Medical and Health Officers (DMHOs), Commissioner Veerapandian issued clear instructions regarding the proper utilisation of these funds. Officials have been directed to ensure that all expenditures strictly adhere to NHM guidelines and protocols.

The department has set a firm deadline of February 20 for complete utilisation of the allocated funds, emphasizing the importance of timely implementation to maximize healthcare benefits for citizens across Andhra Pradesh.

Commissioner Veerapandian further stressed the importance of maintaining proper documentation and submitting utilisation details promptly.
