New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) Vice-Chairman Kuljeet Singh Chahal laid the foundation stone for a new gymnasium at the Palika Services Officers' Institute (PSOI) Club in Chanakyapuri on Saturday. The project, costing approximately Rs 2 crore, is expected to be completed within six months.
Project Details and Features
The gymnasium will be constructed at the PSOI Club located in Nehru Park and will cover an area of about 252 square metres. It will be equipped with modern fitness equipment and infrastructure, including dedicated workout areas, specialised flooring, a reception area, a glass façade, and climate-control systems. The facility will also feature energy-efficient lighting and modern electrical systems.
The scope of work includes civil works, architectural finishing, electrical installations, lighting systems, HVAC facilities, waterproofing, and other related infrastructure.
Support for National Initiatives
Speaking at the ceremony, Chahal stated that the project aligns with the Centre's Fit India and Viksit Bharat initiatives, aiming to promote a healthier and more active lifestyle among residents and members of the NDMC community. He emphasised that the gymnasium would provide PSOI Club members access to top-tier fitness infrastructure and help strengthen a culture of health and wellness.
Commitment to Recreational Facilities
Chahal reiterated NDMC's commitment to improving recreational and fitness facilities in New Delhi. He confirmed that the project is scheduled for completion within six months, reflecting the council's dedication to enhancing community amenities.
