Industries and IT Minister D Sridhar Babu announced this development on Tuesday, marking a pivotal moment for the state's medical technology industry.

French Company bioMérieux Leads Production

The 'Made in Telangana' kits were unveiled by Minister Sridhar Babu and are being manufactured by the French diagnostics giant bioMérieux at its state-of-the-art facility in Genome Valley. This facility represents a substantial investment of Rs 50 crore in its initial phase, creating employment opportunities for approximately 100 skilled professionals. The company, established in 1963 and operating in over 160 countries globally with a revenue of Euro 4 billion, has also revealed ambitious plans to establish a dedicated research and development laboratory at the Genome Valley site in the near future.

Addressing a Critical Public Health Challenge

During the unveiling ceremony, Minister Sridhar Babu emphasized the critical importance of these diagnostic kits in combating drug-resistant tuberculosis, which has emerged as a severe public health issue. He highlighted that this form of TB does not respond to standard treatments, making early diagnosis and timely medical intervention absolutely essential to save lives and effectively curb transmission rates. The launch underscores Telangana's commitment to innovative healthcare solutions that address pressing global health challenges.

High-Level International and Local Presence

The event witnessed the participation of several distinguished guests, including Marc Lamy, the Consul General of France in Bengaluru, and Charles Mahy from the French Embassy, showcasing the strong international collaboration involved. Strengthening Indo-French Economic Ties

On this significant occasion, the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IFCCI) presented a comprehensive report on bilateral trade relations between India and France to Minister Sridhar Babu. The report specifically emphasizes the expanding role of French companies in driving Telangana's development and economic growth, reinforcing the state's attractiveness as a hub for international investment in the healthcare and technology sectors.
