A wedding celebration in Uttar Pradesh's Budaun district turned chaotic after a stray dog entered the venue and attacked guests during the bride's farewell ceremony, leaving over 30 people injured. The incident occurred at a banquet hall near Malaiya Wale Baba temple on Bilsi Road in Bisauli town on Wednesday. Following the attack, enraged villagers beat the dog to death.
Medical Response
Bisauli Community Health Centre in-charge Anil Kumar stated that all injured individuals were brought to the medical facility, where they received first aid and anti-rabies injections. Some victims also sought treatment at private hospitals. “Several people suffered injuries after they fell on the ground during the chaos. All are stable,” Kumar said.
Eyewitness Accounts
Eyewitnesses reported that the dog suddenly entered the venue and began biting people, sparking panic among guests. Women, children, and elderly individuals were among the injured. The animal continued its rampage outside the venue, attacking passersby, shopkeepers, and customers before moving toward a nearby village, where it also attacked cattle.
Previous Complaints Ignored
Locals claimed that the stray dog had bitten people earlier as well, and despite repeated complaints, authorities failed to respond or capture the animal. The incident highlights ongoing concerns about stray dog management in the region.
