Hyderabad: Four persons were injured in an oxygen tank explosion at a refilling facility in Jalpally under Pahadi Shareef police station limits on Monday afternoon, triggering panic in the area.

Incident Details

Fire officials said the blast occurred around 12:25 pm at a shed where workers were refilling smaller oxygen cylinders for supply to hospitals and other facilities. One cylinder exploded, followed by a gas leak from another, intensifying the impact.

"The force of the explosion partially collapsed a nearby mechanical shed and damaged vehicles parked inside. Two workers from the refilling unit and two from the adjacent shop were injured. Cylinder fragments were flung during the blast, hitting the survivors," a Chandrayangutta fire official said.

Response and Injuries

Two fire teams rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital and are stated to be out of danger.

Investigation

Authorities said the exact cause of the explosion and the extent of property damage are yet to be determined.
