Belagavi: In a tragic incident reported from Ashtekar Galli on Mahadwar Road, a 29-year-old newly married woman was found dead under suspicious circumstances, with police suspecting suicide.
Details of the Incident
The deceased has been identified as Rakshita Poojari, who had married Manjunath Krishna Poojari barely a month ago. She was employed at a private company and had been working from home. According to police sources, Rakshita had spoken to her mother on the morning of June 9, and had informed her that she would stay back at her husband's residence instead of visiting her parental home. However, when repeated attempts to contact her later in the day failed, her family grew anxious and rushed to the house in the evening.
Discovery of the Body
Finding the door locked from inside, they peered through a window and were shocked to find Rakshita hanging from a ceiling fan with a dupatta. The police were immediately alerted. A team from the Market police station reached the spot and the body was later shifted for post-mortem examination.
Investigation Underway
Investigators suspect that she may have taken the extreme step due to personal distress over an undisclosed issue. A case has been registered at the Market police station, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause behind the incident.
The police are examining all angles, including possible mental health issues or family disputes. No suicide note has been recovered so far. The post-mortem report is awaited to provide further clarity.
