NEET Re-exam on June 21: Students Resume Preparations

Ranchi/Jamshedpur: Following the National Testing Agency's (NTA) announcement on Friday that the NEET re-examination will be conducted on June 21, students and coaching institutes have once again geared up for another intense round of the country's premier medical entrance test. The original exam, held on May 3, was cancelled due to allegations of a paper leak.

Students Express Mixed Emotions

Aspiring doctors are balancing renewed hope with anxiety over potential further disruptions. NEET aspirant Adarsh stated, "My focus now is to avoid the mistakes I made earlier and secure a good score, as I have another opportunity." Another candidate, Tamanna Singh, shared, "I missed several questions in the earlier exam because of time constraints. This time, I will ensure that does not happen again." Farhad Illiyas, another candidate, mentioned he has already resumed preparations, saying, "I am focusing on maximum test series and self-study."

Coaching Institutes Step Up

Pankaj Singh, head of a coaching institute, confirmed that refresher courses have begun. "We are conducting test series followed by doubt-clearing sessions with teachers. The library has also been opened for students to study," he said.

Disappointment Over Repeated Disruptions

However, some students voiced disappointment over repeated paper leaks and cancellations. Shambhavi Tewari, a national topper in this year's ISC (Class 12) examinations, expressed, "In the May 3 examination, I was expecting around 684 out of 720 marks. Such a score could have secured me admission to one of the country's top government medical colleges. After the leak, I now have to appear for the examination again with full energy. Repeating a strong performance is not easy." Another aspirant, Shuvam Nandi, remarked, "For the government, announcing a fresh exam date may seem routine, but for students, it is mentally exhausting. Over the past two years, I studied for more than 14 hours a day to prepare for NEET. I was very satisfied with my performance on May 3."
