According to an official statement, the hostel currently houses 56 students from classes VI to IX, following the departure of senior students after their board exams. The affected students had their lunch at 1 pm. Within an hour of arriving at school, 22 of them began experiencing severe symptoms, including vomiting and fainting.
The students were initially taken to a private hospital for emergency care and later transferred to the Namakkal Government Medical College Hospital for further treatment. Officials have confirmed that all the hospitalized students are currently under medical supervision, and their condition is reported to be stable.
