Nagpur to Host Major National Symposium on Integrated One Health Approach
The city of Nagpur is set to become the focal point for a significant national dialogue on public health and agriculture. A comprehensive two-day national symposium dedicated to the Integrated One Health Approach will be convened at the Nagpur Veterinary College campus, which is part of the Maharashtra Animal and Fisheries Sciences University (MAFSU). This important event is scheduled to take place on April 11 and 12, marking a crucial gathering for experts across multiple disciplines.
Large-Scale Gathering of Experts and Objectives
The symposium is expected to attract a substantial assembly of over 400 scientists and academicians from various regions across the country. These professionals will come together to engage in detailed deliberations aimed at strengthening and enhancing the veterinary, dairy, and fisheries sectors. The primary goal is to foster collaboration and share innovative strategies that can drive progress in these vital areas of agriculture and public health.
Inauguration and Distinguished Chief Guest
Officially titled the 2nd National Veterinary, Fisheries & Dairy Symposium 2026, the event will be formally inaugurated on April 11. Adding prestige to the occasion, Union Minister SP Singh Baghel will serve as the chief guest for the inauguration ceremony. His presence underscores the national importance and governmental support for the symposium's themes and objectives.
Organizers and Key Focus Areas
The symposium is being organized through a collaborative effort involving several key institutions. Agrivision is leading the initiative in partnership with MAFSU, the Veterinary Council of India, and Vidyanidhi. This coalition aims to address critical issues such as zoonotic diseases, which are infections that can transmit between animals and humans, posing significant public health risks. Additionally, the meet will focus on promoting sustainability in allied agricultural sectors, ensuring long-term viability and environmental responsibility in practices related to veterinary, dairy, and fisheries industries.
By bringing together a diverse group of stakeholders, the symposium seeks to develop integrated solutions that bridge gaps between human, animal, and environmental health, ultimately contributing to a more resilient and healthy agricultural ecosystem in India.
