In a devastating early morning incident, three promising MBBS students from Malabar Medical College Hospital and Research Centre lost their lives in a fatal scooter accident at Kuruvangad in Kozhikode. According to police reports, the students were traveling on an electric scooter towards Koyilandy when the rider suddenly lost control of the vehicle. The scooter crashed violently into an electric post with significant impact, throwing all three occupants into a roadside drain. Despite receiving prompt medical care, all three students succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment at the hospital. The bodies were subsequently transferred to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital for postmortem examinations to determine the exact causes of death.
Victims Identified as Promising Medical Students
The deceased have been identified as:
- Abhinav Suresh, 19, from Alanellur in Palakkad district
- Nandakishore, 22, hailing from Karunagappally
- Abiyan Rahman, 19, originally from Kayamkulam
All three were pursuing their MBBS degrees at the prestigious Malabar Medical College Hospital and Research Centre located in Mudakkalloor, representing the tragic loss of young medical talent in the region.
