Indore's Bhagirathpura Sees Sharp Drop in Diarrhoea Cases
Health officials in Indore report a significant decline in new diarrhoea cases in Bhagirathpura area. This positive development comes just two weeks after water contamination caused several fatalities in the locality.
Sunday OPD Numbers Show Dramatic Improvement
On Sunday, the outpatient department at Bhagirathpura Primary Health Centre treated 40 patients. Only two of these patients received a diarrhoea diagnosis.
This represents a substantial improvement from earlier this month. On January 11, the same health centre recorded 13 diarrhoea patients in a single day.
Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr Madhav Hasani confirmed these numbers. He stated the cumulative data clearly demonstrates the success of ongoing medical interventions.
Hospitalization Numbers Continue to Fall
Since the outbreak began, 447 patients required hospital admission. Medical teams have successfully discharged 432 of these patients after full recovery.
Currently, only nine patients remain in general wards. Six additional patients continue receiving treatment in intensive care units.
These numbers show notable improvement from last Sunday. At that time, 42 patients remained hospitalized with 13 requiring ICU care.
Advanced Care and Monitoring Continue
Patients needing specialized medical attention receive referrals to three major hospitals. These include MY Hospital, Aurobindo Hospital, and Chacha Nehru Children's Hospital.
Health authorities have distributed health cards to local residents. These cards help people monitor their vital signs and maintain proper medical records.
Medical Teams Remain Vigilant
While the crisis appears to be subsiding, health officials maintain high alert status. Medical teams continue intensive health surveys across affected areas.
Treatment protocols remain fully operational. Health workers want to ensure no resurgence of the diarrhoea outbreak occurs.
The overall situation shows marked improvement. However, authorities emphasize the need for continued vigilance and proper water safety measures.
