World Yoga Day Celebrations
The Chief Minister also revealed that both the AYUSH and sports departments will jointly observe World Yoga Day on June 21. This initiative aims to promote the benefits of yoga and traditional medicine among the citizens of the state.
Jana Kalyan Camps
In addition, the state government will organize Jana Kalyan camps from June 15 to June 17. These camps are intended to provide various welfare services to the public at the grassroots level.
The decision to separate AYUSH from the health department is expected to bring focused attention to alternative medicine systems, including Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy. The move aligns with the central government's emphasis on promoting AYUSH practices.
Adhikari emphasized that the separation will streamline administration and enable better implementation of AYUSH-related schemes. The senior official assigned to lead the department will ensure coordinated efforts in research, education, and public outreach.
The announcement comes ahead of the International Day of Yoga, which will be celebrated across the state with various events and activities. The government encourages participation from all sections of society to embrace holistic health practices.
