Pune's Cosplay Community Transforms at Comic Con India's 'Cosplay 101' Workshop
The vibrant geek community of Pune has significantly elevated its cosplay prowess following the recently concluded 'Cosplay 101' Workshop organized by Comic Con India. This immersive event brought together more than 120 passionate creators and fans at Mauji The Time Café in Ashok Nagar, transforming the venue into a dynamic hub of creativity and hands-on learning.
Mastering the Art of Character Transformation
Participants from diverse backgrounds received expert mentorship from a distinguished trio of cosplay professionals. The mentors included Akshay Churi, a two-time Indian Championship of Cosplay winner, Sameer Shaikh, a renowned costume and prop maker, and Navita, an experienced and passionate cosplayer. The workshop served as an intensive crash course in the art of metamorphosis, where these experts unveiled the trade secrets behind high-end cosplay creation.
Attendees were guided through the entire creative pipeline, mastering essential skills such as:

We explained how to begin cosplay, plan costumes, and navigate the entire build process from conception to completion. A live demonstration featuring a shoulder prop made from EVA foam provided a hands-on, interactive experience that was both educational and immensely enjoyable."
