Maanvi Gagroo on OTT Boom, Character Crafting & Her Timeless Love for Goa
Maanvi Gagroo: OTT Evolution, Acting Process & Goa's Charm

From portraying a wealthy stand-up comedian in the popular series Four More Shots Please! to embodying a relatable sister figure in TVF Tripling, Maanvi Gagroo has consistently delivered performances that resonate as authentic and emotionally grounded. In an exclusive conversation with Goa Times, the talented actress opens up about her experiences navigating the dynamic OTT boom and shares her enduring affection for the coastal paradise of Goa.

Getting Into Character: An Instinctive Yet Thoughtful Process

For Maanvi Gagroo, selecting a role is a blend of intuition and careful consideration. She emphasizes that multiple factors influence her decisions. "The script quality, the depth of the character, my potential contribution to the overall narrative, the team involved—and, of course, the sheer excitement of portraying someone new—all play crucial roles," Maanvi reveals.

Transitioning between diverse roles, especially when juggling multiple seasons of different projects, requires dedicated effort. The actress has developed personal techniques to seamlessly slip back into character. One of her unique methods involves the power of scent. "Perfumes have a remarkable ability to instantly transport me back into the world of a specific project. Additionally, I frequently revisit scripts and my personal notes—they serve as my quick gateway back into the character's mindset," she elaborates.

OTT Platforms and Evolving Industry Pressures

While Over-The-Top platforms have undoubtedly alleviated the traditional box-office pressures, Maanvi Gagroo observes that scrutiny persists in new forms. "Series are still evaluated based on viewership numbers, critical reviews, and word-of-mouth recommendations," she notes. However, she highlights a significant advantage of the OTT revolution.

"The positive aspect is the incredible variety now available. We have access to stories from across the globe, spanning numerous genres. This expansion has opened up so much creative space for artists and audiences alike," adds Maanvi, who is currently preparing for her upcoming film Heer Sara and is set to commence work on a new series this March.

Why Goa Never Loses Its Charm

Reflecting on her time spent in Goa during the filming of Four More Shots Please!, Maanvi Gagroo describes the destination with heartfelt admiration. "Goa possesses a unique duality—it is slow-paced yet never dull, relaxed yet vibrantly alive." Despite numerous visits, the experience continually feels fresh and engaging.

"No two trips to Goa are ever identical, yet the place always retains a comforting familiarity. Recently, I dined at a small, unassuming eatery in Penha de Franc—it was no-frills but offered absolutely incredible food. I deeply cherish the culture, the music, and the easy, rhythmic flow of life here," she shares enthusiastically.

Maanvi Gagroo's insights not only shed light on the evolving entertainment landscape but also celebrate the timeless allure of Goa, making her perspectives valuable for both industry enthusiasts and travel aficionados.
