Lukas Gage Praises Emily Bader as Future Star

The much-anticipated OTT adaptation of the beloved novel, 'People We Meet on Vacation', has finally premiered, sending fans into a frenzy. The film, now available for streaming, is earning significant praise, particularly for its cast. Co-stars Lukas Gage and Tom Blythe have been vocal in their admiration for leading lady Emily Bader, with predictions of her imminent stardom.

Co-Stars Unanimous in Their Praise for Emily Bader

At the recent LA premiere held at the historic Egyptian Theatre, Lukas Gage spoke exclusively to People magazine, overflowing with compliments for his colleagues. He expressed immense excitement about the project from the outset, especially knowing director Brett Haley was attached. His highest praise, however, was reserved for Emily Bader.

"I knew that Brett Haley was directing, who I’m such a fan of, and then Emily Bader, who is the biggest star in the world - the world doesn't know it yet, [but] after this movie, she’s going to be," Gage declared. He emphasized that working with both Bader and Blythe was an "incredible" experience.

Blythe Compares Bader to a Hollywood Legend

Gage was not alone in his stellar assessment. Tom Blythe, the film's male lead, echoed these sentiments in his interview with the same publication. He highlighted Bader's unique and captivating screen presence.

"She's got that quality where she can be going off the rails and you still are just so enamored by her. She's so endearing, and she's so playful within the language of the script, and I think she's going to really do justice to the character," Blythe said. He went even further, bestowing a major compliment by stating that Bader is the "new Meg Ryan," comparing her to the iconic rom-com star.

Bringing a Beloved Book to Life on Netflix

Adapted from Emily Henry's popular novel of the same name, the film follows the annual summer tradition of polar opposites Poppy and Alex. Poppy thrives on adventure and spontaneity, while Alex is a homebody who prefers quiet. Despite their differences, they maintain a pact to spend one vacation week together every year, a journey that explores the depths of their connection.

The star-studded cast also includes Jameela Jamil, Sarah Catherine Hook, Lucien Laviscount, Alan Ruck, and Molly Shannon. For Gage, joining a project with such a dedicated pre-existing fan base was both thrilling and a responsibility. "It’s so crazy to be on something with such a huge fan base, and you want to give it justice and you want to make sure that your portrayal of this character is what people envision in their head when they read the book," he quipped.

With glowing endorsements from its own cast and the source material's dedicated readers, 'People We Meet on Vacation' is poised to become a major talking point in the OTT space. The film is currently streaming worldwide on Netflix.
