IITian Baba Abhey Singh Marries Engineer Pratika in Mahashivratri Ceremony
Abhey Singh, widely known as IITian Baba, has once again captured public attention, this time for a deeply personal milestone. The spiritual seeker who became a viral sensation during the Mahakumbh 2025 has quietly married engineer Pratika, with photos of the couple now circulating widely online.
The Wedding and Viral Photos
The couple exchanged vows on February 15, 2026, at the Aghanjar Mahadev Temple on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri. This was followed by a formal court marriage on February 19. The union came to public notice when images and videos of the couple went viral, particularly showing them visiting Jhajjar on March 6 to meet Abhey's parents and handle bank-related formalities.
In the viral clips, Abhey can be seen wearing his signature saffron robes while signing documents at his father's chamber, with crowds gathering to catch a glimpse of the baba's bride. The couple's simple, understated appearance during these visits added to the public's fascination.
Who is Pratika, IITian Baba's Wife?
Pratika is an engineer hailing from Mangaluru, Karnataka, sharing Abhey's technical educational background. According to reports, the couple connected approximately a year ago, possibly meeting at Sadhguru's Adiyogi ashram in Coimbatore following the Mahakumbh events. Their bond developed over shared life values and a common vision for the future.
In a statement to ABP News Live, Abhey described their lifestyle as "a very simple, minimalist life" that they lead together in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. Pratika has maintained a low public profile, but in social media reports, she has praised Abhey as being "simple, honest, and sincere" in his approach to life and spirituality.
Abhey Singh: From IIT Bombay to Spiritual Sensation
Abhey Singh's journey to becoming IITian Baba is as remarkable as his recent marriage. Hailing from Sasroli village in Jhajjar, Haryana, he demonstrated academic excellence early by securing an All India Rank of 731 in the JEE Mains 2008. This achievement earned him admission to IIT Bombay, where he pursued aerospace engineering from 2008 to 2012, followed by a Master's degree in Design.
After completing his education, Abhey worked in New Delhi and Canada, where reports indicate he earned approximately Rs 3 lakh monthly (36 LPA) at an aerospace firm. However, his life took a dramatic turn when he returned to India and embraced spirituality more fully. Winters spent in Shimla, Mussoorie, and Dharamshala profoundly influenced his decision to change his life's direction.
His father, advocate Karan Grewal (former president of the Jhajjar Bar Association), revealed in an NDTV interview: "Our family wishes Abhey to return home. But after achieving so much, it's not easy for him to come back. After that, he decided to become a sanyasi. He was always interested in spirituality."
Grewal added that he had maintained contact with his son until about six months prior, after which communication ceased. "I heard he was in Haridwar and wanted to visit him but couldn't, and now he has gone viral in the media," he stated.
Rise to Fame and Spiritual Pursuits
Abhey Singh first gained widespread recognition during the 2025 Mahakumbh, where he was interviewed while dressed in ascetic garb. His unique background as an IIT graduate turned spiritual seeker sparked intense debates about science versus soul and made him one of the most sought-after figures among spiritual enthusiasts.
His YouTube channel dedicated to spiritual topics attracted early supporters, including his future wife Pratika. The channel served as a platform for sharing his philosophical insights and contributed significantly to his growing online following.
Future Plans: Shree University Project
Looking ahead, the couple has ambitious plans. In an interview with NDTV India, Abhey revealed they are working on establishing "Shree University" – an institution designed to unite various spiritual practices under one roof. The project aims to reconnect people with traditional knowledge systems and promote Sanatan Dharma through structured education and practice.
This initiative represents the couple's shared commitment to spiritual education and their vision for creating a space where ancient wisdom meets contemporary seekers. As they embark on this new chapter together, their marriage symbolizes not just a personal union but potentially a powerful partnership in their spiritual mission.
