Vibhuti Thakur, currently portraying Dimple Suri in the popular television series Naagin 7, is preparing to shock viewers with a dramatic character twist. The storyline will unveil her dark side, marking a significant milestone in her acting career. This development holds special importance because it represents the very first time in nearly two decades that the actress has accepted a negative role.

Playing a Terrorist Targeting Mahakumbh

Vibhuti Thakur shared specific details about her new character in a recent conversation. She revealed, "I am playing a terrorist who, along with other group members, plans to destroy India during the Mahakumbh. While executing their plan, they end up killing the entire family of Purvi, played by Priyanka Chahar Choudhary." This intense plot point promises high drama and suspense for the show's audience.

Initial Hesitation and Ektaa Kapoor's Confidence

Accepting this negative role for the first time was not an easy decision for the actress. Vibhuti admitted she felt uncertain when initially approached. She explained, "When I was approached for Naagin, I was confused because I knew it was a negative role and that Ektaa Kapoor Ma'am would make the final call. I genuinely felt I might not be suitable and thought she would reject me."

To her surprise, Ektaa Kapoor selected her for the part. Vibhuti expressed gratitude, saying, "But to my surprise, I was finalised. She must have seen something in me that even I hadn't imagined. I believe it's important for an actor to keep exploring and evolving, and I'm truly grateful to her for giving me this opportunity."

Breaking Free from Positive Role Stereotypes

Vibhuti Thakur recently completed nineteen years in the entertainment industry. Throughout her career, she has been predominantly associated with positive and comic roles. Her portfolio includes well-known television shows such as Bandini, Tera Yaar Hoon Main, Doli Armaanon Ki, Sasural Genda Phool, and Faltu.

Reflecting on her professional journey, she noted, "Because of my looks and the way I carry myself, I was mostly offered positive roles. Very few casting directors even considered me for negative characters. I always wanted to explore something different, but the opportunity never came. Now that it finally has, I'm thoroughly enjoying the experience."

No Fear of Typecasting After Negative Portrayal

When asked if she worries about being typecast after playing a villain in such a popular series, Vibhuti Thakur remains completely unfazed. She stated confidently, "Right now, my focus is only on my work and telling compelling stories. I'm confident in my ability to take on diverse roles in the future, so being typecast is not something I'm worried about." Her positive outlook suggests she views this role as an exciting expansion of her artistic range rather than a limitation.
