Why Saniya Chose a Negative Character
Speaking about her decision to play the character named Kanika, Saniya revealed she was drawn to the role's complexity. She explained that Kanika is not simply a one-dimensional villain but a layered and powerful individual with her own logic, emotions, and vulnerabilities. This depth presented an exciting creative challenge for the actress.
"Negative roles allow you to experiment more with expressions, body language, and intensity," Saniya said, highlighting the artistic freedom such parts offer. She also acknowledged the opportunity that comes with being part of a mainstream channel show, citing its wide reach and strong storytelling.
Exploring the Shades of Kanika
Far from being sceptical, Saniya expressed pure excitement about portraying a character with a negative shade. She finds these roles to be the most challenging and rewarding, as they involve exploring complex emotions and motivations. For her, the appeal lies in the character's depth and strength, her personal journey, and her reasons, which make her feel real and impactful.
"These shades give you a lot of creative space to perform and experiment," she added, viewing the role as a chance to push her craft and showcase a different side of her acting abilities.
The Power of Kanika's Look
Saniya is particularly enthusiastic about her character's distinctive styling, which is designed to reflect Kanika's power, confidence, and mysterious aura. The visual language includes bold colors, sharp silhouettes, and statement jewellery to set her apart from other characters.
Her makeup is more dramatic, with stronger eyes, and her hairstyles are crafted to exude elegance and authority. Saniya shared that the transformative costume and look help her instantly slip into Kanika's mindset, describing the overall aesthetic as glamorous and impactful.
