Priyanka Chahar Choudhary Exclusive: Reacts to Surgery Rumours, Naagin 7 Look & Comparisons
Priyanka Chahar Choudhary breaks silence on surgery rumours

Television star Priyanka Chahar Choudhary is poised for a major comeback, set to lead the cast of the highly anticipated supernatural series, Naagin 7. In an exclusive interview with Times of India TV, the actress opened up about a range of topics, from the intense speculation around her appearance to the pressures of joining a blockbuster franchise. The candid conversation took place on December 27, 2025.

Addressing the 'Going Under the Knife' Speculation

One of the most discussed topics surrounding Priyanka has been the persistent rumours about cosmetic procedures. The actress directly addressed these claims, attributing changes in her appearance to a health issue rather than surgery. "I was on medication throughout last year and was given very heavy doses of antibiotics," she revealed, explaining that the treatment led to weight loss and facial bloating, which was misinterpreted by many.

She further added a firm stance on personal choice, stating, "Everyone has the right to enhance their looks, and that is completely my choice." Priyanka expressed frustration over how simple makeup choices like kajal or contact lenses spark rumours, asserting, "This is my face and it has its own personality." She urged for more sensitivity towards public figures, even as she takes such comments sportingly.

Embracing the Naagin Legacy and Comparisons

Stepping into the iconic 'Naagin' role comes with inevitable comparisons to actresses like Mouni Roy, Surbhi Chandna, and others who have previously helmed the franchise. Priyanka shared her perspective on this pressure. "I don't think it's right to get caught up in comparisons, especially when only the trailer is out and the full show is yet to be seen," she remarked pragmatically.

She acknowledged the weight of the responsibility, calling Naagin a "massive franchise and a strong brand." Her focus remains on performance rather than perception. "The only thing in my control is putting in my hundred percent, and that's exactly what I'm doing," she affirmed. When pressed to name a favourite former Naagin, she singled out Mouni Roy, while praising all previous performers for their wonderful work.

The Journey to Naagin 7: Look, Wait, and Gratitude

Priyanka described the process of landing Naagin 7 as a surreal journey, deeply connected to her fans and her own post-Bigg Boss 16 trajectory. She expressed immense gratitude to producer Ekta Kapoor for the opportunity and noted that returning to Colors channel "feels like coming back home."

Regarding her much-talked-about look for the show, she clarified it was a collaborative team effort. "The look and personality were thoughtfully developed by the entire team, the costume department, Anu, Nidhi, the creative team, and Ekta ma'am," she said. Priyanka emphasized her deliberate choice to not imprint her own personality onto the character, aiming solely to do justice to the role as envisioned by the creators.

She also reframed the so-called "waiting period" before the show as a valuable phase of self-improvement. "For me, it's been one of the most valuable periods... I see it as working on yourself, preparing, learning," she stated, having consciously declined other projects to be ready for Naagin 7 without any regrets.
