Popular television actor Krushal Ahuja is bidding farewell to the show Bindi. His departure coincides with the serial heading for a significant time leap, marking the end of a journey that began with a promising but ultimately constrained character arc.
From Grey Shades to a Fading Track
In a candid revelation, Ahuja shared that his role in Bindi was initially designed as a negative character poised for a gradual transformation into a positive figure. "It was a nice and different experience to play a grey character," the actor stated, reflecting that the early phase offered substantial creative exploration. However, as the narrative unfolded, the character's potential diminished. "Tracks got divided, things became limited and eventually it faded," he admitted, explaining the rationale behind his exit.
He also addressed his on-screen dynamic with co-star Radhika Muthukumar. Ahuja clarified that their chemistry was limited due to the absence of romantic scenes, making it incomparable to his popular pairing in Jhanak. "Also Radhika's character Kajal hated me because she went to jail because of me. So it was a story of revenge for her," he added, outlining the adversarial nature of their relationship in the plot.
Why Ahuja Avoids Playing Father to Grown-Up On-Screen Daughters
Discussing the impending time leap in Bindi, Krushal Ahuja opened up about his reluctance to portray the father of a grown-up daughter. He clarified that Bindi is his third project after Rishton Ka Manjha and Jhanak, where he played a young father. While comfortable with fathering a young child on screen if the character is well-written, he draws a line at playing parent to an adult.
"In Jhanak too I had quit because after the leap, I would have to play father to a grown-up daughter. I was not comfortable," he confessed. He expressed happiness that his role in Jhanak resonated deeply with the audience, despite his early exit.
Looking Ahead: Seeking Roles with Consistent Depth
Despite the premature conclusion of his track in Bindi, Krushal Ahuja has no regrets about taking on the part. He was initially attracted by the strength of the role and the excitement it presented. His experience, however, has reinforced his desire for more substantial and consistently developed characters.
The actor is now looking forward to future projects that offer more consistent depth and allow him to explore a wider emotional and narrative range, moving past the limitations he recently faced.
