Renowned filmmaker Vetrimaaran has publicly lauded the exceptional character and managerial abilities of his former assistant director, Suresh Rajakumari, who is now stepping into the director's chair with the upcoming police drama 'Sirai'. The revelation came during the film's pre-release event, where Vetrimaaran shared a compelling anecdote to highlight Suresh's just nature and adept people-handling skills.
Vetrimaaran's High Praise for a Balanced Leader
Speaking at the event for 'Sirai', which stars Vikram Prabhu and newcomer L K Akshay, Vetrimaaran did not hold back his admiration. He described Suresh Rajakumari as a remarkably balanced and ethical individual. "Suresh is a very balanced person. You cannot find another balanced person like him," Vetrimaaran stated. He emphasized that Suresh handles every situation with patience and calm, always standing firmly by what is right, even if it means disagreeing with Vetrimaaran himself.
The acclaimed director pointed to these very traits as the foundation of Suresh's successful transition to director. "I think his people management skills and his ability to handle pressure are the main reasons that enabled him to make this film well," Vetrimaaran said, adding that the film's producer is presenting Suresh with a car in recognition of his efforts.
A Real-Life Incident Showcasing Conflict Resolution
To illustrate his point, Vetrimaaran narrated a specific incident from when Suresh was working with him. A boy from Vetrimaaran's office was allegedly beaten by four or five local youths. When the matter reached Suresh, he took a uniquely diplomatic approach instead of escalating it.
Understanding that informing Vetrimaaran could lead to either the office boy being reprimanded or police action that would sour neighborhood relations, Suresh chose a different path. "He took our office boy to the guys who had attacked him and reasoned out the issue, thereby ironing out the problem," Vetrimaaran explained. The director only learned of the incident later from others, underscoring Suresh's discreet and effective problem-solving.
