Hyderabad: The 'Thread Pochampally' handloom exhibition and sales centre was inaugurated at HITEX on Friday by Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Textile Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao, and Bhongir MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy. The three-day event is organized by Yadadri Bhuvanagiri District Collector Anurag Jayanthi.
Support for Handloom Weavers
Speaking on the occasion, MP Kiran Kumar Reddy emphasized that efforts would continue for the welfare and upliftment of handloom weaving families in the Bhongir parliamentary constituency. He appealed to people and handloom enthusiasts from Hyderabad and neighboring districts to visit the exhibition, which runs until June 7, and support weavers by purchasing handloom products.
Showcasing Traditional Craftsmanship
The exhibition features a wide array of Pochampally handloom products and textiles, aiming to promote traditional weaving craftsmanship and support local artisans. Visitors can explore and purchase authentic handloom items, contributing to the preservation of this heritage craft.
The event highlights the government's commitment to boosting the handloom sector and providing a platform for weavers to showcase their skills.
