More About 'Batwara 1947'

The film was initially titled 'Lahore 1947', but the makers recently decided to change it to 'Batwara 1947'. According to a Bollywood Hungama report, producer Aamir Khan did not want to use the original title. However, the new name belonged to late producer Salim Akhtar. The report states that Khan met Salim Akhtar's family and convinced them to give him the title.

Apart from Sunny Deol, the movie also features Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Ali Fazal, and Sunny's son Karan Deol. As the title suggests, the story revolves around the Partition of India.
