Director Keerthiswaran has revealed that he has already discussed a concept for a potential sequel, tentatively titled 'Dude 2', with actor Pradeep Ranganathan. Although the project has not been officially announced, the filmmaker stated that he has a story in mind that aims to preserve the essence of the original while exploring new narrative avenues.
Keerthiswaran Hints at 'Dude 2'
According to a report by Moneycontrol, Keerthiswaran spoke about the possible sequel during a recent public event. He mentioned that he had pitched an idea to Pradeep Ranganathan for 'Dude 2'. The film is still in its early stages, but the director hinted that the new story would retain the tone that resonated with audiences in the first installment.
"If the idea comes together as planned, it could be either a direct sequel or a continuation in the same story universe," Keerthiswaran said.
The update has generated considerable interest among fans, as 'Dude' became a commercial success following its release on October 17, 2025, which coincided with the Diwali season. Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics, the film performed well at the box office.
