Maanvi Gagroo: OTT Gave Me Recognition, But Cinema Magic Is Unmatched
Maanvi Gagroo: OTT Gave Me Recognition, Cinema Magic Unmatched

For Maanvi Gagroo, who has seamlessly navigated between theatre, films, and OTT platforms, choosing a favorite medium is no easy task. Yet, the actress acknowledges that OTT holds a special place in her heart for the opportunities and recognition it has brought her.

OTT: The Medium That Found Her

Speaking to Mumbai Mirror on the sidelines of the Kashish Pride Film Festival 2026 in South Mumbai, Maanvi said, "I think my loyalties lie a little bit with OTT because OTT has given me so much. It gave me a space to find myself, and a space where my audiences found me." This emotional connection stems from the platform's role in her career growth and visibility.

The Undeniable Magic of Cinema

Despite her strong bond with OTT, Maanvi admits that cinema possesses an irreplaceable magic. She is now preparing for her first theatrical release in nearly six years. "My last film was in 2020, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan. And then the lockdown happened. So even that film didn't get a full run," she recalls. The upcoming film, Heer Sara, marks a significant milestone for the actress.

Excitement for the Big Screen

Maanvi expressed her enthusiasm about watching herself on the big screen with a live audience once again. "I'm excited to see myself back on screen with Heer Sara," she shared. Reflecting on her journey, she revealed that films were always her original dream. "Cinema ka magic koi bhi nahi le sakta," she said. "Because that's what I came here for. I came to Mumbai from Delhi for films. It's been an excellent journey so far."
